I'm on the fence about it. Marvel has pretty much tapped out their roster when it comes to heroes. Captain Marvel is supposed to defeat big chin guy when all the others couldn't? Where was she this whole time. Just seems like they're scraping up secondary heroes and beefing them up to tier 1 heroes. Maybe the comics say different. I think I'm looking forward to the other Captain Marvel movie coming out.

She is being buffed, although there was a time in the comics during which she wielded a new power that made her go to 11. So it’s not a new thing for her to be very powerful. Still kind of disappointed that Adam Warlock won’t play a role in Thanos’ defeat. He was huge and pivotal in the comics. I will enjoy seeing Ronan again. He was a good baddie You love this signature.

I never knew much about this character. I was aware of her from the trading cards and maybe some mentions in X-Men. But I never read anything. My taste in comics strayed from superheroes quite a bit and I mostly only had time for the flagship titles. But this looks cool. I was confused to see Samuel L. Jackson looking like not Nick Fury but I checked IMDB and it is him. Obviously (Blockbuster, lol) this takes place in the past. |

I'm almost completely unfamiliar with this character, but given the MCU's track record and given the likely inclusion of a healthy dose of '90s nostalgia, I'm excited to see it.

Looks like Captain M is heading toward a huge opening. I told you Wonder Woman needed to be on her guard.

So last night I watched the movie. It was pretty good. Not great. I would put it on par with Black Panther and the Thor franchise in general. I think a few different things hurt the film: - Not good when ancillary characters are more interesting than your lead (Carol is pretty bland and mostly just a sarcastic amnesiac) - There's not really a good enemy to face in the film. There are only a couple enemies that might be considered "main" baddies, and CM overpowers them by a lot. It's like having Red Skull be the main enemy of a Hulk movie. - Too many instances of characters having huge revelations make nearly no difference to their worldview. Sometimes they don't even act surprised. I'd give it a 3.75/5 You love this signature.
