Mr Magic

The U.S. Supreme Court has announced their decision on the S. Dakota v. Wayfair
case, overturning the long-standing rule that states could not tax
businesses or sellers outside of their borders. Now is the time for
Congress to act on legislation that protects small businesses.

And we need your help.

Please consider signing our petition
to show our country's political leaders that these new Internet tax
burdens could permanently damage U.S. small businesses. The petition
takes less than a minute to complete. We will soon deliver this petition
to President Trump, key members of Congress, and select state
governors, so we need you to participate now.

eBay has always supported tax policy that is fair to entrepreneurs, artisans, and small businesses. Rest assured that eBay will continue to fight this battle on behalf of all of our valued customers.

Sincerely,

eBay

I just checked my Ebay inbox and saw it. It's for some kind of petition eBay wants it's users to sign.

I do a good amount of business on Etsy, and recently, the states of Washington and Pennsylvania started charging sales tax to out of state businesses. This means it is automatically added to the customers purchase, but the hassle is tha I have to keep up with this stuff, and file and remit sales tax to those states every quarter. It is a hassle, but what do you do? I’m not going to exclude those states, so I have to comply

That's interesting. I didn't know eBay is a small business.

Sounds like more red tape to make life difficult on people. Something the government excels at

NEt NEutrality is overturned which means small businesses are going to get royally screwed very soon. Anyone trying to make money on the internet who isn't a part of a major corporation are officially in for a difficult time. So heartbroken.

eBay itself may not be a small business, but plenty of it's sellers are.

Oh. Doesn't this help small businesses by leveling the playing field? Everybody would have to play by the same rules.

If eBay really wants to help their sellers, they could stop the new listing grouping policy, listen to sellers when a buyer opens a dispute, change the star rating system and stop giving advantages for free shipping, or relax some of their fees.

It's getting harder to be a seller.

I would definitely be up for them relaxing the fees. They can get obscene.
