Has anyone else seen the new movie yet? I saw it yesterday, and I have some (mostly) spoiler-free thoughts I'd like to share below.

  • I would have personally liked seeing some more of Superman than what we saw, but what we did get of him was pretty good. The scenes of him fighting the film's main villain and the scenes of him and Lois Lane were pretty awesome.
  • Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman is still one of the greatest things about the DCEU.
  • The people involved in this movie did a serviceable job of making Aquaman cooler in this film than how he's generally viewed in pop culture.
  • Ezra Miller's version of the Flash was not as good as the one played by Grant Gustin on the CW show, but he wasn't terrible, either. I did laugh out loud at more than one of the moments involving his character.
  • For retro fans like us, one of the coolest things about the movie is that both the 1978 Superman theme and the 1989 Batman theme were used.

I don't know. I thought it was pretty good. True, it wasn't the best superhero movie ever, but I wouldn't put it among the worst, either. Then again, I'm probably a bit biased since I am a fan of the characters in the movie (Superman and Lois Lane especially) and since I do tend to greatly enjoy the genre of superhero movies.

I saw it today and I thought it was pretty good. The CGI mustache erasure was certainly off-putting at times but other than that it was good. You'd think it would've been easier to just shave it off and use a fake one. Certainly a fake mustache is easier to pass off then an obviously CGI'd out one

I've not seen it yet, and in all likelihood it will be when it comes out digitally before I do.

I personally have no interest in seeing this, but I do appreciate that they're trying to make Aquaman cool.
If they ever make a solo movie with this incarnation, I'd watch it.

My goodness, a Justice League movie and I still haven't seen Wonder Woman yet.

There's actually a solo movie with him coming out next year in December.

Wonder Woman was really good and is so far the only DCEU movie pretty much universally loved by critics. I totally recommend giving it a watch.

I hope it's good and that it helps create a new public image for him, the same way the Tim Burton movies did for Batman. God knows Aquaman needs it.
I'm just puzzled why didn't WB make movies for each individual hero first and then a teamup film? It makes no sense.

I agree that they totally should have gone with individual movies before a team-up movie. The only reason a team-up movie without individual films preceding it would make any sense would be if they weren't planning on doing individual movies at all, which obviously wasn't the case. My best guess is that greed got in the way of common sense. They figured that a team-up movie would make more money than individual ones, so they unwisely rushed the team-up film into production before bothering with solo films.

Wonder Woman is good but pretty overrated IMO.

My biggest problem with the movie is that Steve Trevor is basically the main character and Wonder Woman is the sidekick. Also, it borrows a little too heavily from Captain America: The First Avenger and the bad guy is a disappointment.
