Does Gidget (the 1959 movie with Sandra Dee) count? It does according to Wikipedia, but I'm not sure it falls under what most people would picture when thinking about sports movies. It does largely revolve around the sport of surfing, so I guess it's fair enough to count it.

There are, of course, some that I've seen that aren't surfing films.A good example of that is Viva Las Vegas, which falls under the category of an auto racing sports film. Elvis Presley's character in that movie was so infatuated with his car that Ann-Margret sang a whole song about it!  |
