Has anybody else seen the latest Marvel superhero film? Given that Spider-Man was the first Marvel character I really got into (the 1994 Spider-Man cartoon was basically my gateway into the Marvel Universe), I made a point to go see this one as quickly as I was able. It didn't quite live up to my expectations, which were admittedly high since Spider-Man is such a favorite character of mine, but it was a solid movie. I still think the first two Tobey Maguire/Kirsten Dunst movies are the best Spider-Man movies made so far, though.

That said, there was a lot to like about this one. Michael Keaton's performance as the Vulture was a big highlight for me. I'd say he was one of the best Spider-Man villains we've seen onscreen in quite some time. What's funny is that I never would have thought watching Batman as a kid that I'd someday see the same guy playing a Spider-Man villain and like it so much. It's kind of cool to think that he's now played both a superhero and a supervillain and done a great job at both.

I also enjoyed all of the Marvel cameos. There was one in particular I wasn't expecting that came near the end of the movie that I especially enjoyed. I'm not going to say who it was, though, because I don't want to spoil the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it.

I have. My feelings about it closely resemble yours. Michael Keaton and Robert Downey Jr. make the movie. Spider-Man is fine and all, but it's fun to watch Keaton play such a great bad guy, and Iron Man/Tony Stark always steals every scene he's in. Also, Cap's little segments... comedy gold.

I wouldn't mind seeing him show up in some form or another in one of the movies, but I'm not sure I can picture him as Uncle Ben.

@Ben:

How would you feel if Kirsten Dunst was Aunt May?
