I experienced this movie first hand when my family and I bought our house. I remember first hearing about this movie when my father was complaining about a leak in a closet and he said "I feel like I'm living in The Money Pit".

When Shelley Long had her brief, semi-successful movie career. And that Tom Hanks guy did pretty well for himself I guess.
