The latest news to hit comes in the form of some clips and some confirmations of monsters present in the Godzilla sequel.

Here you'll see a clip of Kong taking on a "Skull Crawler" and another with Sam Jackson and John Goodman's characters yapping about the island, with Goodman making the connection between the Godzilla film and this film by mean of his employment with Monarch, the organization at the center of the action in the Godzilla film.

In addition, it was confirmed that Mothra, King Ghidorah, and Rodan will be in the Godzilla sequel. Yes!

Nice to see King Kong being rebooted again. I wonder if it's going to be a long as the last one was.

I'm looking forward to this. Kong is one of my favorite movie monsters.

I guess I'll be the first to post about it, I saw Kong Skull Island today. Pretty good movie, a fresh take on the King Kong franchise and attempted to be different from previous installaments. I honestly thought the creatures were not as great as the 2005 version (seriously, deer and giant water buffalo?).

But overall, pretty good.

I too watched the film today.

It was well done. I found myself oddly wishing that Kong would have been "warmed up to" in much the same fashion that Godzilla was in his first Legendary outing. But I think this film was more of an answer to criticisms that Godzilla didn't get enough screen time and pretty much didn't show up in his full glory until the last 20 minutes or so. Here, Kong shows up in the first 5 minutes and it doesn't really slow down after that. That's great to a degree, but does kind of suck the awe out of his mighty presence. I think I figured out how they will be able to match Kong up with Godzilla in 2020. Here it is explained that he is "still growing". From 1973 (the timeframe this film takes place in) until 2020 is plenty of time to "grow". He could be 300 feet or more by the time he squares off against the Big G.

And also, the end credits scene.... YES!!!

Glad you liked it Vapes, that end scene was great!

I loved the movie and am totally pumped for Kong versus Godzilla!

Peter Jackson's King Kong (2005) was basically a remake and everything felt a little off from the casting to the chase scene in NYC. Here they went with something different, put fun to the max, and it totally paid off!

I just got back from seeing this movie today. Like the rest of you, I really enjoyed it. I'm glad that they went with a different storyline instead of remaking the original AGAIN. With three different versions out there at this point, I don't think that that story needs to be told again any time soon.

Looks like a comic series of the MonsterVerse will fill in some gaps between the Kong film and the coming films. I'm looking forward to reading them.
