I'm considering checking out the new Ghostbusters movie, so I decided I might as well watch the original for the first time in years since I'm sure I won't enjoy the new one nearly as much as I enjoyed it. I also watched Ghostbusters II, which I don't recall ever seeing before. I thought they both still hold up as great movies, though I did like the first one more than I liked the second one. Quote |

I've always had a soft spot for Ghostbusters II, it's not as good as the original but it still holds up. I like the "your love is lifting me higher part" with the Statue of Liberty and the Museum curator is just awesome in that movie.

So weird...
I had a dream that I JUST woke up from that featured Dan Ackroyd passing away. In the dream, I was there at the funeral and saw Bill Murray, John Goodman, Kevin Pollack (why? ) and Dan's family (including a son... does he even have a son?). I REALLY hope this was not a premonition. You love this signature.

Ghostbusters 1 and 2 sure had some scary scenes. But what do you expect from supernatural beings?

That ghost on the car door looks like a KKK member.
The women of New Vegas ask me a lot if there's a Mrs. New Vegas. Well, of course there is! You're her. And you're still just as perfect as the day we met.

I loved the 1984 "Ghostbusters". It had a wonderful mixture of comedy and thrills. I didn't like "Ghostbusters II" because I wasn't a fan of the concept of the team as scattered pariahs back at square one. Finally, I have to say that I liked the 2016 "Ghostbusters" as much as the 1984 version. I liked the new team, especially Kate McKinnon as Holtzman. I think she deserves a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Oscars, but since "Ghostbusters (2016)" was a flop, it probably won't get better.
Put briefly, this is my ranking of the three movies: 1.) "Ghostbusters" (1984) 2.) "Ghostbusters" (2016) 3.) "Ghostbusters II" |
