"Magic can happen to you."

Well I used to be sort of sad Christmas was over when I was a child because that meant winter break was almost over and I'd have to get right back to school but since I have to work a majority of the time anyway doesn't really affect me anymore.
Wir sprechen zu viel, aber wir sehen zu wenig.

I think Christmas ending doesn't affect me nearly as much as it used to. I feel more of the blahs when Fair Week ends than Christmas.

It may have something to do with my southern baptist upbringing but when I was a boy Christmas was just the start of a week long celebration that included New Year's Day. But tradition also stretched to January 7th, the date the wise men presented gifts to the baby Jesus.

I think this is true mainly because Winter itself is a dreary and depressing time. Like honestly, what's great about winter? The snow is awful, the cold is horrible, your trapped in your house 90% of the time and there's no sun. Once Christmas and New Year's passes what else do you have to look forward to until Spring finally arrives?

I know what you mean. Christmas is always fun, but when it ends, the fun is gone.

As a kid I couldn't help noticing how all the excitement of Christmas reached its peak on Christmas Eve. In a strange way the anticipation of Christmas is what makes it different from all other holidays.

|
It's always the anticipation that is the fun of any holiday. Once the actual holiday arrives and quickly passes, the fun dies off. The buildup is the best part You love this signature.

I agree 100% about the anticipation. It's the whole month of December that is Christmas to me, not just the day itself.
But the blues are here now. Kid start back with their studies tomorrow, and I head back to work. www.retroramblings.com

The days of Thanksgiving and Christmas give me a very good feeling. I wish I had that feeling back. But you know what? Days go by so quickly, those holidays will come back before we know it.

I agree, though 2016's is best forgotten since it was a disaster for me. Lost a friend of mine due to their own pride and possibly jealousy. Their family was nice enough to give me presents.
