well for those not in the know, a fan-created magazine called nintendo force has hit newsstands this month, as the founder wanted to carry on the tradition of nintendo power by going into its format in this new magazine.
the crew for the magazine compose of staff members from IGN, 1UP.com, nintendojo and destructoid, as well as the writer of a webcomic called brawl in the family. i'd get this magazine, though it comes at a staggering price of $17. just like nintendo power, i don't think this one is going to last, but i still believe that this will pull through if they make a pricecut on the issues

I hope they manage to survive, but to be a successful print magazine nowadays seems like an awfully daunting task.

Don't get me wrong, I like being able to hold the material in my hand like the old days. LOL. The smell of freshly printed pages and such are a plus. I just hope for their sakes that there is enough demand out there to be a success.

Technically though, the fact that Nintendo Power didn't go digital was one of the reasons why they went out of business in the first place, or at least it could have continued to last if they did.
As for Nintendo Force. It looks like an interesting magazine that I'd be willing to check out. Still outrageous that it's selling for $17 when the digital version is only $5. |

blueluigi wrote : I know it seems like an awful lot, but considering the costs involved in professional printing services these days, I can see why the price is what it is. Especially if you're producing a short run of the product. As with most things, the more that is produced, the cheaper it is per unit. In this case, I'm guessing the amount of printed product is very low in comparison to other similar mags. You love this signature.

That's pretty cool. It's too bad there's no games coming out that I want to read about.

Same here. I would buy it just for the novelty of it. Plus I just looks cool.
