Though I assume by starring Elizabeth Shue and others it was a rather popular film in its own day. Also had Anthony Rapp and Vincent D'Onofrio in earlier roles. How do we define "coming of age" anyway? Is The Goonies a CoA film? Is Brideshead Revisited a CoA mini-series? She was in BttF 2 & 3 and I think those "coming of age" (?) films need no introduction. Coming-of-age stories tend to emphasize dialogue or internal monologue over action, and are often set in the past." - Wikipedia.org I think that this does not necessarily mean that we see the protagonist physically go from child to adult, but rather we see childhood from the adult's perspective, or see the child protagonist grow in wisdom or grow emotionally as the film progresses.
