I'm definitely going to get in on this!  Do we submit entries in this forum thread as a post?

No. You submit them just as you did your previous articles. It's just that if the subject matter is right (and the other contest requirements are met), they will automatically be entered.

i don't really have the best ideas for a summer article, so i'll just grab the popcorn and read whatever gets submitted for the contest.

i will however, work on a revised version of my super mario sunshine review. y'know, that article on rj that orangejuice90s jumped on me about just because he wasn't aware of the site recently having the 2000s decade option? i don't think we'll see him pop up with any alt accounts here anytime soon, i just thought that posting a classic article i wrote based on a game on a tropical island would be appropriate for the season.

While the contest ended 2 days ago, only today will all the entries finally be published. A slight delay, but I wanted to try and allow each it's due time on top on the front page. I'll be sending the entries to Mr. Donovan this week.

Without further ado...

From Tristan Donovan:

"Hi Tony

Sorry took a little longer to get back to you than I hoped but here's my choices plus a brief 'why I picked it':

The Winner: "A flurry of Hadoukens and Shoryukens" http://retro-daze.org/site/article/id/568

A great, deftly told story of bullies and victims briefly coming together through Street Fighter II. Has just the right amount of detail to bring the characters vividly to life; the image of clam-stank boy will linger on in my mind like his smell.

The Runner Up: "The mall arcade" http://retro-daze.org/site/article/id/565
A fun, memory jolting tour round the arcades of yesteryear that anyone who spent their youth playing in their dingy, noisy confines will relate to. It really captures the atmosphere and thrills of hanging out in the arcades. Great, if sad, ending too.

Do let me know if you need anything more.

Cheers

Tristan"

Onipar sweeps in out of nowhere and scoops up a win! Well done. Veteran contributor massreality will receive a sealed copy of the SNES classic, F-Zero for his runner up article.

Thanks to everybody who entered. They were all such fun to read, and really made this otherwise wet summer something special for everybody here.
