Looking at the trailer I can tell they are going with a campy spooky
comedy movie and not for serious scares which I like because honestly
Goosebumps wasn't that scary. Are You Afraid of the Dark on the other
hoof is another beast in itself. Through out the trailer I was naming
the monsters and the books. So yes I will see this movie.

The wife and I have been watching the original tv series and new haunting hour episodes on Netflix and they are still very enjoyable. The Goosebumps show actually has a surprising amount of easter eggs, cross-referencing the books and even poking fun at the author.
This first trailer looks great! |

Hmmm. I'm interested. I'm a fan of Halloween family movies. You know, I never watched Goosebumps (nor did I ever read the books), but I know it has a huge following. Maybe I'll dig into Netflix a bit to see some episodes for myself.

B-but R.L. Stine said in an interview that he doesn't have the manuscripts for his Goosebumps books. The movie is wrong.
I haven't felt this betrayed since the intro to "The Nightmare Room" when the narrator says he is R.L. Stine. I know James Avery's voice. |

This looks promising. I just don't like when Hollywood takes something a certain generation grew up with and markets it to another generation.

Ehh... if this happened 10 years ago I would of been excited, regardless the tone of it. I honestly think Goosebumps worked best when it was more serious rather then comedic, so I don't think the more campy tone will do it any good.

I think I might pass on this one.
