COMMUNITY MESSAGE GAME: GUESS THAT YEAR

It's pretty clear... you guys love guessing games. So, with that in mind, I've got a really good one and this one is going to come with REWARDS... usually POINTS, but sometimes other "prizes".

Every day (well, when it's possible), I will reveal two hints (one in the morning hours - 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM - and one in evening hours - 12:01 PM to 5:00 PM). It will be your job to discover what year I am referring to in the hints.

Now hang on just a second, there are a few rules:

1. You can only guess ONCE! That's right. For each "round", a new forum topic/thread will be created by yours truly and you will post your guess within that topic/thread. But you can only do so ONCE! So it's best to hang on to that guess for when you're at least somewhat sure. Then again, maybe you want to get out in front of the others by going out on a limb?

2. No questions will be answered. If the hint makes no sense to you, then it can't be helped. Perhaps your fellow members can give you a little friendly advice?

Now for some details:

Hints will be given via the Community Message System, so keep your eyes out for that grey alert box at the top (if you've closed it, it will reappear when a new message is sent out).

Hints may occasionally include an image.

The years will include and be limited to 1970 to 1999.

The "reward" or "prize" will be mentioned along with the first hint of each round.

The first to post the correct answer in the forum thread/topic for that particular round, will receive the "reward" or "prize" and a new round will begin immediately (or... as soon as I can get around to posting a new hint/thread/topic).

Now... LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

It appears no single clue really gives the answer which means we can either guess based on what clues we do have or wait for more clues to eliminate years?
