It will return in 2017 on Disney XD.
Although, it hasn't been announced whether the show will be done in hand-drawn animation or CGI.

here's hoping there won't be any modern pop-culture referencing. i think that sort of thing is getting old hat now. and i'm sure with alan young being in his mid 90s now that they'll have to find a sound alike voice for scrooge.

I think it's a pretty safe bet it will be CGI. From Disney or anybody with money, even stuff that looks like it uses old methods, doesn't.
I wonder if this is planking for future reboots. That is, if this makes money will they do new versions of Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck? Goof Troop? Gummi Bears? Benjanime wrote :I think you mean Alan Old, amirite? I don't think it will be too hard to replace him. Especially, again, with Disney-level money. This isn't disrespect. Some of those voice actors can do amazing imitations. I watched I Know That Voice, could not stop smiling through the first half. |
How the heck did they do this before a new Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers?

/\ DuckTales is just more popular. Way more people talk about the DT Nintendo game than RR. Even though Rescue Rangers is a much better game (in my opinion). But I think that's why they made DuckTales Remastered, and they're going to continue with this property to establish the market more before expanding the offerings.

I'm excited about it. But like Ben said, I would prefer it stay an 80s/90s period series. I don't care to see Scrooge take on any modern issues/people. Also, Disney has done well so far finding voice imitators for their main characters. I don't doubt they'll come through for Scrooge.

I don't think this show is going to be CGI. Disney XD has other shows that are also 2D animated, so I have no doubt this show will be as well. While I would love for it to have the look of the classic series, I would also be fine if they went with the stylized look of Ducktales Remastered. But we'll have to wait and see how this turns out.

Netflix is apparently also revamping Inspector Gadget and Danger Mouse.

Vaporman87 wrote :Yup. Though, Inspector Gadget started airing on Boomerang Australia, and for that, it was made available on torrent sites. I saw the first episode... it was actually really good. Definitely a whole hell of a lot better than previous attempts at bringing back Inspector Gadget (ie the Disney movies, Gadget and the Gadgetinis). It is CGI, which isn't a deal breaker for me personally, but I thought it was very well utilized, and it brought some of the charm the original series had. Only thing is I do kind of wish they got Maurice LaMarche to do the voice of Gadget. He sounded very close to the character when he voiced him in Gadget and the Gadgetinis, as well as his guest appearance on The Super Mario Bros Super Show. |

Sounds interesting, i can't wait for that and new Danger Mouse. I mean retro toons like He-Man, Ninja Turtles, My Little Pony (i'm a brony) and Thundercats got successful revamps. |
