All of my favorite skits come from around the same time... the time of Chris Farley, David Spade, Mike Meyers, Dana Carvey, Kevin Nealon, Phil Hartman, etc.
Here's one classic skit... You love this signature.

This made me smile. So glad they brought it back.

"Magic can happen to you."

Any skits with the Spartans in it.

I missed this, but I caught the first episode on Saturday. Some people say the show has declined, some people say those people are just wearing rose-colored glasses...I say the oldest stuff is still genius. But I also feel that way about most long-running series. When ideas are fresh and formative, of course that's when the work will be the strongest!
My favorite skits are Weekend Update...from any time period. That is the one segment that has always been and always is gold, IMO. |

I also caught the very first episode on Saturday. That, I wasn't expecting at all. But NBC was showing some classic SNL these past few months, and I think the first episode was the one to end this run.

I was one of those weird people who liked Mad TV more.
The women of New Vegas ask me a lot if there's a Mrs. New Vegas. Well, of course there is! You're her. And you're still just as perfect as the day we met.

Mad TV had some great skits for sure, but I think they relied heavily on some of the characters that they developed, more so than even SNL. Still, you have to love Kenny Rogers:
You love this signature.

I liked both Mad Tv and SNL. The year I started watching SNL was the year Mad Tv premiered. I used to do a Ms. Swan impersonation.
