That's the way this film works for as well. I needed some distance before I was able to appreciate the music and the "spirit" of the story. 

I never thought much of the movie before I first watched it, but when I did, ooohhh baby. It was so nifty, as 50s people would say.

Grease is on CBS tonight.

Not only that, they showed a very old bumper. Geez. They didn't even show a Sunday bumper.
