Yup, it's official! Following in the footsteps of Nintendo, Sony is releasing the PlayStation Classic this December. It will include 20 games. It's full library is unknown, but according to the official announcement it will include Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3 and Wild Arms. maybe if my ps3 ever dies out i'll consider buying one, at the moment i have over 45 ps1 games on my psn account.

I'll wait and see what other games get announced before I get excited. Hoping to see Ape Escape, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Gex, Medievil, Parappa the Rapper, and Tomb Raider.

I prefer the startup sound of the PS2, but that's probably because it's what I grew up with.
Mostly though I just love the pronounciation from the commercials. PLAY STAY-SHON. The women of New Vegas ask me a lot if there's a Mrs. New Vegas. Well, of course there is! You're her. And you're still just as perfect as the day we met.

i know it's been a few days now since the reveal, but only a few games on this are enticing. the original twisted metal was ok, but i thought 2 was better, the original medal of honor i feel was better than rainbow six, and i guess the rest are ok choices, i just wish there was more to it that made the price feel worth it. i can understand that spyro and crash aren't on there because it would ruin the sales of the remakes, and obviously tony hawk's pro skater can't be on there because of music licensing issues. i think at the end of the day if i wanna be happy with my ps1 library i'll look to my ps3 with over 45 ps1 games on my account, and get a raspberry pi and add some ps1 roms on that. It's a pretty meh list, but I did enjoy playing Cool Boarders 2 and Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee as a kid. It will be fun to play those to games again.
Still, I was really hoping for Parappa the Rapper, Medieval, GEX, and Tomb Raider. Ah well. |
