50453Dire Straits - Money for Nothing

Lol, there's more to the story, but I tell the short version - no one want's a novel.

"we gotta move these refrigerators - we gotta move these color TV's"

MTV changed music, and television. What an unlikely series of events that a catch phrase from the '50's and '60's, forgotten by a new generation, thrown in the lyrics of a mega-hit song, yet picked-up and changed ever so slightly; to become the new rally cry for a kickass cable channel. That's the 80's fer ya!
eddstarrApr 10, 2024View
50452Dire Straits - Money for Nothing
Ah, so that's how that line came to be. From a bunch of guys whining for hot cereal. XD
BlueNovaApr 09, 2024View

50449Wrestlemania
The most recent WM I saw was the one in 2005. When I heard that Roman Reigns lost his title match last night, had to watch.
BlueNovaApr 08, 2024View
50448Spring '24
The warm weather is trying its best to creep around here in VA. Very warm when the sun is out, but once its clouded over there's a faint chill. Most likely the summer heat will arrive a month before the season
BenjanimeApr 08, 2024View
50447The Eclipse of 1970
The Moon is slowly moving farther away from the Earth and has been doing so since planetary formation. That means that far in the distant future, the Moon will be too small to cast a total solar eclipse. So how far in the future will that "Last Eclipse Ever", actually happen?

eddstarrApr 08, 2024View
50446Your avatar.
What's so attention-getting for the silhouette style avatar is the way it kinda "shifts" the harder you stare at it. I'm so old that my mind wants to morph it into the Phantom of the Opera, lol.
eddstarrApr 08, 2024View
50445Spring '24
Hope your May vacation happens without a hitch, RaR.

Surprisingly, this has been the coldest March and April I've experienced in Seattle since 1985.
eddstarrApr 08, 2024View
50444Spring '24
The weather has still been cold here in Pennsylvania. It is funny, we got like a solid week in the middle of March where everything was over 60 and then suddenly everything dropped back down. While we do have some rain in the next week of forecasts, it does seem the colder weather is going away and things are steadily rising back into the 60s permanently.

On a side note, I am looking forward to taking my vacation in May. I don't know what I am doing yet but I will be taking a week off from work now that I just received paid-time off.
Rick Ace RhodesApr 08, 2024View
