41382She-Ra: Princess of Power (and reboot)
Uhg. So I watched a couple more episodes last night and the disgruntled teen act is really wearing thin. All the characters are goofballs except Shadow Weaver, Hordak, and Queen Angelica. They really needed to include more serious characters to add some weight to things. This is like the Thor:Ragnarok version of She-Ra for teen girls, and it’s not working
Vaporman87Nov 18, 2018View
41381Winter 2018/2019We've had two snow events here in two or three days but no accumulation.

My east coast friends apparently had very much trouble getting home Friday night, to the tune of 4, 5, 6 + hours on the road. That was unfortunate. Many of them got really political in their complaints. That made me laugh.
shakin steakNov 18, 2018View

41379The CaféJust finished my first play through of the PS4 version of GTA V. It really brought back memories of playing it on the PS3 the first time five years ago.Rick Ace RhodesNov 18, 2018View

41377Thanksgiving Nostalgia & More!
jkatz wrote :
I have a pet theory about why we're seeing Christmas stuff in stores so early (even earlier than usual this year, it seems). Since Thanksgiving is seen as "politically incorrect", marketing and advertising people are now ignoring it and going directly to the next most profitable holiday after Halloween-which is Christmas.

-end quote
I think that's part of it. I think the bigger reason though is just how important the Christmas season is to businesses and the economy at large. It's the biggest spending time of the year, and is so vital that it essentially sets the tone for the rest of the year.

It doesn't help that Thanksgiving just can't compete in this department. If Thanksgiving was as vital to the economy as Christmas was then we might have a lot more waiting to do before the Christmas stuff starts getting rolled out.
Rick Ace RhodesNov 18, 2018View
