45484 | The Café |
They're not hotcakes. They're hotscakes lol.

One thing that makes Green Acres so funny is Oliver making telephone calls...on top of a telephone pole!

And I love it when he makes speeches. Huh. That's strange. I thought I heard a fife playing a patriotic tune.

| Mr Magic | May 02, 2020 | ![]() |
45483 | The Café |
MM,

Everytime I see your sig I'm reminded of Lisa's cooking on Green Acres. This clip begins with Bea Benaderet, (Kate Bradely of The Shady Rest Hotel - Petticoat Junction & Cousin Pearl - The Beverly Hillbillies), giving Lisa cooking instructions. The clip ends with, "Fried Oatmeal".

| eddstarr | May 02, 2020 | ![]() |

However, I was shocked by how America went "UFO Crazy" in the 1970's.

Remember, "Chariots of the Gods"?

UFO mania was so prevelant that as my friends and I walked to school everyday we were always looking in the sky so no flying saucers would sneak up on us!

"Brian's Song" kinda got swamped by all the Alien/UFO goings on - LOL!
| eddstarr | May 01, 2020 | ![]() |

45477 | The Café |
i'm not getting my hopes up in going to see that, this is likely to end up being one of those cases where the original is far better.
| Benjanime | May 01, 2020 | ![]() |

45475 | It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963) |

Lately I've been thinking about "All-Star" comedy ensemble movies. Few can match the scale of Stanley Kramer's epic comedy film but sometimes a smaller cast can make a film feel approachable.

The photo above is from "Clue" - 1985. Not as funny as "Airplane!" - 1980, but "Clue" has a real charm that allows the movie to feel more friendly especially when the jokes fall flat.

| eddstarr | Apr 29, 2020 | ![]() |
