Games like NHL Hockey and Mortal Kombat which require quick reflexes and good timing, suddenly became games of "thinking ahead" to your next move. Since your movements took a good half a second or more to actually show up on screen, you had to be sure to plan out your movements. This, of course, lent itself to "cheating". These games were not meant to be played online. So, glitches and cheats resulting from the lag were extremely common. This was especially true of NHL Hockey (the game I played most on XBand). There was a certain position near mid-ice where, if the puck was fired, the goalie would NEVER stop it.
