46096The Café
@Rick

i'm kinda glad they left out anything related to one piece on there, they messed up that english dub BAD, along with their own censorship editing, which wasn't any better. one thing that eddstar mentioned a few years back was when the block would have this new incredible crash dummies cartoon airing inbetween commercial breaks. really took me back to one of the sets i had as a kid.

BenjanimeSep 06, 2020View
46095Super Mario 35th Anniversary
uninstallation on its own is impossible, they're just talking about picking up your own copy. this is the only nitpick i have about this collection, it's like nintendo doesn't care that people are dealing with a pandemic right now and they're pulling some disney vault B.S. for no reason. this is only going to give ebay scalpers a run for their money.
BenjanimeSep 06, 2020View
46094Cartoon "Sandwich" Time

Mr Magic wrote :
You've probably noticed this one in the 1990 Ninja Turtles flick.

-end quote

You sure have the magic touch MM.

You scored one of the most popular Aesop's Fables episodes, definately one of the funniest. This is the one my favorite cousin would talk in her, "turtle voice", and crack all of us up! Just say, "two for one special".

Here's one I remember because this is the episode that breaks with standard english in favor of "hipster vibe circa 1961". And I love the way Gladys turns the tables on Rumpelstiltskin.

eddstarrSep 06, 2020View
46093Superman (the 1978 movie and its sequels)
Superman I and II were both filmed at the same time. The part where he went around earth and reversed time was intended for the second film, but because of the amount of money spent on that scene they didn't want to risk a second movie not being released so they worked it into the first film. Richard Donner was the origninal director, but he was fired before the movies were finished. Several scenes were refilmed while some of his scenes were kept. Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut was released in 2006 and is a much different movie than the Richard Lester film we all grew up watching. I personally like Lester's verion better, but Donners is good too. I like both I and II, but II has a cooler vibe to it.
bassman21Sep 06, 2020View
46092Super Mario 35th Anniversary
I am definitely buying 3D All-Stars. Even though I don't have a Switch yet, I definitely want to get that before the run is over. I'm glad they're finally porting a copy of Super Mario Galaxy to a new console. I just hope they do the same for Super Mario Galaxy 2 one day.

The only thing I am worried about is this limited run thing. Does that mean we will be denied accessibility to the game after the cut off date even if we already purchased it? Will it be uninstalled from our Switches once the deadline comes?
Rick Ace RhodesSep 06, 2020View

46088Superman (the 1978 movie and its sequels)

I watched Superman Returns yesterday.

If I could pick between this and Batman Returns, I'd pick Batman Returns. Probably because I grew up with that one. But overall, Superman Returns is still an enjoyable film.
Mr MagicSep 05, 2020View
46087Superman (the 1978 movie and its sequels)
Mr Magic wrote :

SM3: Good, but not great. The silliness of the movie could've toned down some. The Clark/Bad Superman idea was neat, though.

SM4: Quest for Peace: Again, not great. But still better than the previous film.

Still have to watch Superman Returns.

-end quote

Those opinions on the third and fourth movies are close to my own. As for Superman Returns, I rank it above those two, but it still doesn't come close to the first two. I've long thought Superman has been done better on TV than in the movies. Adventures of Superman (the '50s series starring George Reeves), Lois and Clark, and Smallville are all pretty awesome adaptations, whereas after the first two Christopher Reeve movies that were totally epic, things get pretty dicey on the film side of things. That's why I'm hoping the upcoming Superman & Lois series will continue the tradition and blow the recent Henry Cavill films out of the water.
SupermanSep 05, 2020View
