| 46390 | Retrospective - The Thing - 1982 | <p>"The Thing" is a movie that came alive thanks to cassette rentals and dvd sales. The ability to rewatch scene by scene is where John Carpenter's attention to detail really pays off. The rise of CGI in movies seems to have made writers and directors lose the fine control over shaping a film.
