46390Retrospective - The Thing - 1982
"The Thing" is a movie that came alive thanks to cassette rentals and dvd sales. The ability to rewatch scene by scene is where John Carpenter's attention to detail really pays off. The rise of CGI in movies seems to have made writers and directors lose the fine control over shaping a film. Pratical effects like in The Thing may find a second life as new projects come up next year. I would like to see less use of CGI and more character development.
eddstarrOct 20, 2020View

46388The Café

Looks like The Great Pumpkin and other Peanuts Specials are headed to streaming and leaving broadcast TV. :(

https://www.vulture.com/2020/10/its-the-great-pumpkin-charlie-brown-streaming-apple-tv.html?fbclid=IwAR1NoJMCBb2-zMtu5E2Y6nHHupYlWtrMUIwPWAsFeP377p6nPoPIn65WhCI
Vaporman87Oct 20, 2020View

46385Retrospective - The Thing - 1982
Yeah. The Thing was one of those remakes in the '80s that improved on the original.
Vaporman87Oct 19, 2020View
46384Terminator 6
@Echidna: That sounds interesting! I'd like to see that become a real film.
Vaporman87Oct 19, 2020View
46383Terminator 6
Personally, I wouldn't mind that.

retrocrunch wrote :
Id be up for a Terminator Genesis 2. I like the first one as well.

-end quote

Mr MagicOct 19, 2020View
46382Terminator 6

I actually have a clutch idea for a new Terminator movie-

Terminator: Vengeance

The story follows Miles Dyson's kids. A Terminator is sent back in time to kill Blythe Dyson who invents the time travel machine that allowed humans to stop Judgment Day.

My pick for a new Terminator would be John Cena haha
echidna64Oct 19, 2020View
46381Terminator 6
Exactly! For franchises I stop at Terminator 2, the original Matrix, and Aliens

Vaporman87 wrote :
Rick Ace Rhodes wrote :
Personally, Terminator is the first two movies.
