9596Summer 2014Well we made it back from our Brooklyn trip. We had a great time, I only took a few pics, I'm not really a picture taking person. But I did take some, I'll try to post this week. So we did the whole Coney Island thing, Luna Park, ate at some nice places to include Grimaldi's Pizzeria, Junior's Cheese Cake, Nathans, the Ice Cream factory by the Brooklyn Bridge, tons of street vender food, it was really good. We also went to Allentown Pa, it was way more quiet there, not much to say about it. We drove from PA to Schenectady and spent the 4th of July there, practically blew up the whole block, we had about 1000 dollars worth of fireworks from Phantom Fireworks, by 12 a.m. I didn't want to see another firework, I was giving stuff away. To sum it up, we had a blast.

bklynbrenJul 08, 2014View
9595Summer 2014I'm going to the beach with my family again sometime this summer. We stayed at the Ramada Inn last year, which was a pretty nice place. I hope we stay somewhere just as good like Days Inn.
Mr MagicJul 08, 2014View
9594Summer 2014Today has to have been the most rainy day of Summer yet here. It POURED for a few minutes with winds that almost blew open our office doors. It's still raining now, though at a much less fierce pace.
Vaporman87Jul 08, 2014View

9591What's your retro obsession?@echidna: Cool! I like old board games myself, though I don't have a collection of one. I do like reading about the history and creative influences of board games. Even set to developing one myself, which went nowhere of course (but which WILL be playable online when Moudy has finished it for me)

@shakin: That second set is very cool. I like the retro look of it, though I would rather see a late 80's style console set... like this one:

Though, I would prefer it have dials as opposed to buttons like the above television. This one would also be acceptable:

Vaporman87Jul 08, 2014View

9587What's your retro obsession?Well, here we are.

It's...something. It's partway there. A simulacrum, if you will. It's just a shell (albeit, finely crafted) for any mass-market TV you can grab. It has the look, but not the buttons, so dearly important to me. And I'm fairly sure it uses the speakers built into the regular TV, with nothing behind that woven cloth.

On the other hand, here is something that has the controls, and enough of the style to satisfy me. At one-fifth the price of the functionless fancy case, I'd consider it. Of course, it's not going to have dials for picture quality, which are part of the fun for me, but not as strictly necessary.

Unfortunately, it's only available in Korea. Some westerner did manage to get a hold of one, and provided the only review for it on Amazon, deeming it flimsy and poorly designed (although they did not go into specifics about the latter.)

Any other info is proving difficult to come by.

shakin steakJul 08, 2014View
