47360Best Twilight Zone episodes
I always liked "Long Distance Call." Simply because my father had a funny prank pulled on him involving that episode. A spooky concept that ultimately had a happy ending.

Rick Ace RhodesMay 10, 2021View
47359Best Twilight Zone episodes
I've been doing a lot of TZ bingeing lately, but I haven't got to that one yet. Looks very creepy, nonetheless.

I watched the Death episode yesterday. When someone thinks of Death, the first thing that comes in their mind is the Grim Reaper. But here, he looks like an FBI agent.

Mr MagicMay 10, 2021View
47358Order of Cosmic Champions and "The Novel"
I was planning my own entry into that contest but never submitted it. I don't know how well a character called "Mouthula" would have done.

Vaporman87 wrote :
Originally Mechani-Ghoul was my submission to the Create-A-Character contest Mattel held back in 2011-2012 for the MOTU Classics line. 47357R.I.P Tawny Kitaen, actress, video vixen and one-time RD guest star...

Tawny Kitaen will always be an, "80's Force of Nature", and a touchstone for a wonderful era of entertainment.

Whitesnakes, "Here I Go Again", remains an 80's Classic and the video made for the song is a case study in 80's Culture - like a video Time Machine. And Tawny's energy and spirit will always be with us.

eddstarrMay 10, 2021View
47356Best Twilight Zone episodes

It's very strange the way my favor for Twilight Zone episodes have changed over the years.

Anne Francis starred in a TZ episode called, "After Hours". In the best Rod Serling tradition, there's nothing awful that happens in this story. It's actually a character study about who we are - a story about Us.

Yet, only the Twilight Zone can focus on beautiful people and give you a creepy, sort of "unsetteled" feeling.

eddstarrMay 09, 2021View
47355A Superman movie idea

echidna64 wrote :
@Rick

I was thinking that a sequel could be set in the modern day sort of similar to the Captain America series.

Superman would age a lot slower and we would see his patriotic optimism clash with modern day cynicism. The sequel would be like the Empire Strikes Back where Superman would confront the person responsible for the destruction of Krypton- Braniac.

-end quote

OK, I see where you're aiming. You want old school "Action & Adventure" type excitement and fun - the kind that made Superhero comics so popular in the first place. As an animated story not only would Superman's attitude clash with modern sensibilities but even his "drawn style" could be old school, to match his behavior and make the character a true standout.

The Fleischer Bros. Superman series from the 1940's rings true to the original spirit of Superman. Everyone understands the timelessness of Superman's character, Restoring Superman back to his place in pop culture sounds like a winner to me!

eddstarrMay 09, 2021View
47354Best Twilight Zone episodes
One that really freaked me out was the one where the Nazi soldier revisited the concentration camp and the ghosts of his victims put him on trail for crimes against humanity.
Mr MagicMay 09, 2021View
47353Best Twilight Zone episodes
Yeah, it does. Probably why I dig it. Another one with that feel to it (actually really heartwarming for a TZ episode) is "The Night of the Meek," with Art Carney. Wonderful Christmas episode. To a lesser degree (or maybe not) "One for the Angels" as well.
oniparMay 09, 2021View
