This is a solid B movie with a plot that, despite being clearly written in service of the special effects, never stagnates. And said special effects are pretty good. It's a gimmick often seen in low budget sci-fi of decades past, but the execution is competent and diligent. The acting is also good enough. No eye-rolling moments that stood out.
