23538Virtual Console ThursdaysWeek of 8/27/2015:

Wii U Virtual Console:

Sin and Punishment (N64)

$11.99

This marks the second week in a row in which we get a game from Treasure on the Nintendo eShop. First we get 3D Gunstar Heroes for the 3DS, and now, we not only get Sin and Punishment for the Nintendo 64, but the 2010 Wii sequel, Sin and Punishment: Star Successor, has both been released this week on the Wii U. If you look at the price, you'll see that Sin and Punishment is the most expensive game released on Nintendo's Virtual Console service to this day. And for a good reason. Sin and Punishment for the N64 was a Japanese exclusive. It made it's North American debut in 2007, when the game was released for the original Wii Virtual Console. But this isn't just the matter of slapping the original Japanese game. The 2007 Wii Virtual Console release was also the first time we got to see English voice acting for this title, although the Japanese subtitles still remain.

Believe me when I say I highly recommend this title. It is a heavily overlooked title from Treasure. The price may be steep for a Virtual Console release, but I think it's well worth the money. Plus, since I already previously bought it on the original Wii Virtual Console, then the $2 discount is available for me to get the Wii U version. I never got the chance to play Star Successor. Maybe I'll try out the Wii U eShop release of the game, just to see how Wii download games run on the Wii U. Also, the main character, Saki Amamiya, appears as an assist trophy in Super Smash Bros Brawl, as well as Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS. Though, personally, I feel they should make Saki into a full character. It would definitely give Sin and Punishment a lot more recognition.

BTW, on a side note, Mega Man Legacy Collection has just been released this week for PS4, Xbox One, and Steam. It's basically an HD Mega Man collection containing all 6 of the NES titles, with extra modes, such as a Challenge Remix mode (same thing Rare Replay in their game. Which seems to borrow inspiration from NES Remix), artwork, leaderboards, and replays. A 3DS version is scheduled to come out in 2016. But otherwise, this collection is essentially pretty pointless if you already have the games in any of the previous releases, whether they be on the Virtual Console, through the Mega Man Anniversary Collection, or if you own all the titles like I do. However, I might consider getting the 3DS version as I've been wanting to try all 6 Mega Man titles on the go. I have no reason to own the console versions.

But on the filpside, some fans have been purchasing the Mega Man Legacy Collection in hopes that it may show tell Capcom that there is still an interest in the Mega Man franchise, and that we want to see new games in the series. I still kind of doubt it will happen. Especially since Capcom just hasn't found the time and money to make a new Mega Man game. Well, at least we have Azure Striker Gunvolt, which was released for the 3DS, and just came out on Steam. Plus, we also have Mighty Number 9... though that doesn't come out until 2016.
blueluigiAug 28, 2015View

Look at Chris Kyle (American Sniper) he was an expertly trained warrior and was shot point blank. It's always the unstable, insane shooters that scare everyone into thinking we need to round up all firearms and ship them to Pluto. I think some people just like the knowing they have a firearm so they can fantasize how heroic they'd be if someone started busting caps at the mall. Let them have that. And like you said, we need to address the root issues here like bad upbringing and intolerance.

Vaporman87 wrote :
I think there's common ground in there that could make a positive difference. As far as pathways to opportunity, it would be helpful if we could manage the influx of illegals and come down hard on businesses that use their labor. Stop wasting money raiding guitar manufacturers because of wood in their product, and raid businesses using illegal immigrant labor. It's not an all-in-one solution, but it could help. Then again, you need Americans who're willing to work in those jobs. When they get so many government handouts that they just choose not to work, it's hard to present them opportunities they'll consider. The things I've witnessed in this county alone with regard to the use and abuse of welfare is staggering. -end quote

Here in California, nearly all of the service industry is comprised of latinos. When I go to the lumberyard in the mornings, it's mostly hispanics and a few old white guys. I don't have an issue with it, they're hard workers and family oriented. They cater to the upper middle class white population who can't wipe their butts without a hand guiding them. Go to the park, and you'll see a pregnant latino lady walking 2 white kids! I worked at a house and this rich white family has 2 kids, and the wife doesn't work. They have 2 housekeepers and a dog walker....and a vet that visits the house...and a Gardner..

vkimoAug 28, 2015View

23535Last Thing you Bought?I bought this game today. I had trouble finding reviews on it since the store I was in didn't allow me to get a very good signal on my phone, but I bought it anyway because it had He-Man and G.I. Joe in it. Seriously, this is the only major game release I can think of with He-Man in it since the Atari game (even though it is TOY He-Man we're playing has here). Haven't got to try it out yet though.

Vaporman87Aug 28, 2015View
