26353Fallout GamesSorry to hear that V. I hope it starts working, because it's a great game. @onipar: No, the site isn't monetized. I feel like that would detract from the site too much, and wouldn't bring in much money to boot.Vaporman87Nov 14, 2015View
26352The CaféThe death toll was at 153. Even worse than last time, I believe.
Mr MagicNov 14, 2015View
26351Fallout GamesSo I picked up part 3 at Gamestop and within the first 10 minutes the game froze twice. Apparently this is a well documented issue on the PS3. Kind of a bummer, I'll try it again tonight and if it doesn't work, return it.
vkimoNov 14, 2015View

26349Fallout GamesYeah, once you hit a certain age, spending a lot of times on video games is pretty hard. I LOVE gaming, but I barely get to. I teach, write, and sculpt as my main "jobs," and that takes up quite a bit of time. Usually I get to squeeze in some gaming during the holidays, and between semesters, if I'm lucky.

I have to admit, I had wondered if this site was monetized, as it appears not to be. oniparNov 14, 2015View

The secretaries watch soap operas and surf the web. The serviceman watches the news. The delivery guys sit around in the garage at the bulk plant gossiping like little old ladies. If it's not busy, it's REALLY not busy. We only have like 3 or 4 months of "busy". The rest of the time it's sporadic at best.

RetroDaze is my "side business". 26345Virtual Console ThursdaysWeek of 11/12/2015:

Wii U Virtual Console:

Contra Advance: The Alien Wars EX (GBA)

$7.99

The newest Nintendo Direct may have been yesterday, but that sadly doesn't make this week's Virtual Console release any less of a weak one. Contra Advance is a remake of Contra 3: The Alien Wars for the SNES, though there actually did exist a Game Boy port that was released a few years after the SNES game. Even though the GBA version is better than the Game Boy port... it's still far inferior to the SNES version. For instance, you can only hold one weapon at a time, and the mega bombs were removed in the GBA port, despite being intact in the Game Boy version. Also, due to the Mode 7 graphics... the overhead stages were removed and replaced with two stages from Contra Hard Corps. Unfortunately, it doesn't make the experience any better as the slide move makes it a whole lot harder. Yeah, it's a really crappy port. On top of that too, the SNES original is already on the Wii U Virtual Console, so that makes this release redundant.

However, there is some good Virtual Console news that came in the wake of the recent Nintendo Direct. First off, Japan announced that they're going to be getting Mother 3 on the Wii U Virtual Console in December to coincide with the Lucas Amiibo. Hopefully, this means that the game will also come to the states. Also, this February, we'll be getting the original Pokemon games on the 3DS Virtual Console. Yeah, that's the first piece of news we've heard at all about the 3DS Virtual Console... and the release date is in February... a year after the last 3DS Virtual Console games (Donkey Kong Land) were released. Maybe soon, we'll finally see an end to this drought of releases we've been seeing on the 3DS side of things.
blueluigiNov 14, 2015View
