27094What song are you listening to?I'm sure I posted this song over at RJ but I would like to have an embed here too.<div><br></div><div>Ran into this video clip by accident and it just floors me! As an official "TV Kid" of the '60's I have to admit that this video is waay cooler than anything else I saw back in the day.</div><div><br></div><div><span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; background-color: rgb(250, 250, 250);">I'm guessing that this clip is from the BBC music show, "Top of the Pops" which ran on BBC-4 for awhile. If I'm right it would explain something amazing - this was a live, in-studio performance that was recorded for broadcast. Listen carefully and there's no mistaking, this live version is so close to the recorded disc release that I had to check my ears.&nbsp;</span><br style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; background-color: rgb(250, 250, 250);"><br style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; background-color: rgb(250, 250, 250);"><span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; background-color: rgb(250, 250, 250);">If you're as impressed as I am after watching this video, please save a copy. Once it's gone from YouTube it may be gone forever.</span></div><iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/_prwZpMmheE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>eddstarrDec 13, 2015View

27091Holiday Fare 2015Hey crow!!!<div><br></div><div>You betcha - many of the holiday standards are also favorites of mine too.&nbsp;</div><div>But when I look back at the 70's and 80's there were lots of non-holiday stuff that caught my imagination.</div><div><br></div><div>One of the most unusual was the Russian animated special "The Scarlet Flower",&nbsp;<span style="font-size: 13.3333px;">from 1952.</span></div><div></div><h1 class="yt watch-title-container" style="margin: 0px 0px 13px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font-weight: normal; font-size: 24px; display: table-cell; vertical-align: top; width: 823.636px; color: rgb(34, 34, 34); word-wrap: break-word; font-family: Roboto, arial, sans-serif; background: rgb(255, 255, 255);"><br></h1><div>&nbsp;</div><div>This is not a Christmas story but it's so beautiful to look at it may as well be a Christmas Spectacular. This is a Russian take on "Beauty and the Beast" so the story is familiar. I love listening to the original Russian version but the English dubbed version is also on YouTube.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>I was 8 years old in 1965 when I first saw this and I've loved it ever since.</div><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/q5gQFjr0QRk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>eddstarrDec 13, 2015View
