27607Are Wrestlers Cursed to Die?This is a topic that has shaken me up many times.

Wrestlers share the same trouble as strongmen, bodybuilders and weightlifters - shorten lifespans.

Whenever a strength athlete dies young I always blamed all the chemicals these men use. I have since learned that it's more fundamental than that.

For strength athletes the problem starts with cardiovascular limitations plus combinations of performance enhancing drugs plus undo stress of various causes.

The rule of thumb for big bodies is simple - no matter what your size all humans have similar sized hearts. The biggest, strongest men on earth are all hobbles by the size of the human heart and circulatory system. Medically speaking, anything science tries to compensate for the limits of the human heart are indeed life threatening too.

That means wrestlers are very vulnerable and you guys know what can happen.
eddstarrJan 02, 2016View
27606Natalie Cole died.Did you notice the Cadillac was a 1957 Series 62 convertible? How awesome to see that car from the year of my birth. Funny thing is, I remember when I first heard Natalie sing Bruce Springsteen's song as a pumped-up 80's romp, I was relieved to hear her do contemporary stylings and get away from homage to her father and his type of music.

A lot of Bruce's fans never forgave Natalie, but Bruce said he loved what she did with his song and felt it was an improvement, "nice beat and you can dance to it", lol!
eddstarrJan 02, 2016View
27605Natalie Cole died.I always liked that song edd. Thanks for posting it.

It's funny how they end up stealing the car at the end. Should be a scene where she is singing from jail.
Vaporman87Jan 02, 2016View

27603Natalie Cole died.
Natalie Cole has died from ongoing health complications, she was 65 years old.

I would like to honor Natalie, but not with sadness. That amazing musical decade of the 1980's saw Natalie score several hit songs, including the posted video below.

So forget sadness and remember Natalie Cole with love. 80's music will never die!

eddstarrJan 02, 2016View
27602Virtual Console ThursdaysHappy 2016 everybody. And this is the last Virtual Console release of 2015. Yeah, no games were released during Christmas week... that is, unless you count the original Super Mario Galaxy for the original Wii. Oddly enough, Nintendo had it listed on their site as a Wii U Virtual Console release, even though it doesn't count as one. Like I said many times before, the Wii games on Wii U do not count as Virtual Console releases. They're just standard downloads of the original games that runs the same way they do by running the disc on Wii Mode. You don't get the customized Virtual Console menu with save states, custom controls, or any of that. Hell, you can't even use the Wii U Pro controller or Gamepad. Anyway, that was all we got for Christmas week. What a letdown.

But we did get something pretty good for New Years Eve. So let's bring it on. This is the Virtual Console release for the week of December 31, 2015:

Wii U Virtual Console:

1080° Snowboarding (N64)

$9.99

One thing that should be noted is that both the Wii and Wii U releases of 1080° Snowboarding has the ads for Lamar Snowboards and Tommy Hilfiger outfits intact... unlike the Wii Virtual Console release of Wave Race 64, which removes ads for Kawasaki and Fanta and replaced them with ads for the Wii and DS. However, the recent European release of Wave Race 64 on the Wii U Virtual Console brought back the Kawasaki and Fanta ads.
blueluigiJan 02, 2016View

27600Are Wrestlers Cursed to Die?A lot of the guys were overweight and may have used steroids. I remember reading somewhere how something like only half of the wrestlers from one of the first Royal Rumbles were still living. I think Yokuzuna and Earthquake are gone too. Very sad.
vkimoJan 02, 2016View

27598Are Wrestlers Cursed to Die?I think the nature of their job places them at a much higher risk for early death. Much like football players and some other sports related occupations.
Vaporman87Jan 01, 2016View
