28574The Sports ThreadI feel like the NFL really needs to revamp and try something new. The Pro Bowl just seems so useless.massrealityJan 31, 2016View
28573The Sports ThreadTonight's the Pro Bowl.<div><br></div><div>I still bothers me how both squads aren't called AFC and NFC anymore. This year's teams are selected by Michael Irvin and Jerry Rice, not actual coaches.&nbsp;<img src="http://retro-daze.org/images/smilies/MavSkeptical.gif" style="font-size: 10pt;"></div>Mr MagicJan 31, 2016View

28570Robocop (1987)Thanks ghostman now you know why remakes are a problem for me. Good movies always capture an indefinable quality of the times when they were made. For that reason I prefer all new projects. Wonder how fans of the Robocop redo feel when they see the original?eddstarrJan 31, 2016View
28569Robocop (1987)Awesome breakdown Edd! I can't recall If I caught this one in theaters or not. I would not have been old enough (13 - 14) by most standards, but just can't say for sure how I first experienced this one.<br><br>It's not for the squeamish for sure.&nbsp; <img src="http://www.retro-daze.org/images/smilies/p6.gif"><br>Vaporman87Jan 31, 2016View
28568Robocop (1987)OMG, where do I begin?<div><br></div><div>The original Robocop will never be equalled, it's a prime example of the magic of movies. In fact it's so good I can't imagine 1987 without Robocop. The movie has transitioned into a sort of time capsule as it captured the "spirit" of the times in a way only a movie can.</div><div><br></div><div>Robocop is a mix of violence and humor in over the top doses. Even after all of these years fans can still examine this movie scene by scene teasing out gems. Memorable lines are too many to get with a single viewing and few films have held up as well as Robocop.</div><div><br></div><div>Extra credit for using stop-motion animation for the ED-209 robot, sma adds that nice "creepy" feel that computer animation doesn't provide.</div><div><br></div><div>How lucky I am to have experienced Robocop as an original theater release. That audience never expected to have such a crazy romp, and neither did I. And to fun started right from the opening scene with that crazy newscast, talk about Weird TV:</div> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/3LKQ3eX9pEg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>eddstarrJan 31, 2016View
28567How was your day?Today the family and I met some friends at a place called "Pump Up The Fun", an indoor inflatables place. That place was so crowded that the concrete and the gravel parking lots were full, and many people were just parking in the grass beside the place. It was insane. Also, when we arrived there was an ambulance loading up a kid. That really inspires confidence.<br>Vaporman87Jan 31, 2016View
28566Seeing that most of us never logout of Retrodaze...Retro-Daze is one of the few sites where I'm actually able to logout. Other sites show me online all the time. So much for having a username and password.eddstarrJan 31, 2016View
