30149Forgotten CartoonsMy dad was a Navy officer so I grew up near a Navy Base with friends that were all Navy kids like me. I'm telling you this because the Navy kids in my neighborhood were unusual in the way they viewed cartoons.<div><br></div><div>Take "George of the Jungle", very popular cartoon from that awesome year, 1967. All my friends watched the show every week but not to see George. Almost every one of my friends watched for the "filler" cartoon in the middle of the show, "Super Chicken".</div><div><br></div><div>This is the part of "retro" that never gets consideration. The past is never as straightforward as it seems, especially for folks too young to have experienced it firsthand. I betcha it was Super Chicken that made George of the Jungle so popular.</div><div><br></div><div>Btw, Happy Easter!!!</div><div><br></div> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/OeLw-jWx3-0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>eddstarrMar 18, 2016View

The Final 4 have been decided. Voting for this round will only be open a limited time, so be sure to get your votes in right away. Vote here&gt; <a href="http://challonge.com/1986moviemadness" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://challonge.com/1986moviemadness</a> You can vote in Round 5 even if you missed previous rounds. A little surprisingly, all of the top seeds have advanced to the Final 4, though Stand By Me only defeated Pretty in Pink by just 3 votes. To me, Top Gun vs. Stand By Me this round is the toughest choice so far. We are almost done! Please keep spreading the word and getting more people to vote. Kind of interesting that the Famicom Dig Dug is the game that's part of the Virtual Console Threepeat club as that game has not been released for the NES in North America.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>City Connection is the next entry of the Virtual Console Threepeat club. It's nice having the NES version, but it's not the most ideal version of City Connection to play. The arcade version is far superior and is available for the Playstation 4 as part of Hamster's Arcade Archives.</div>blueluigiMar 18, 2016View
