30947 | The Jungle Book 2016 | <span style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt;">A baby, lost in the jungle, is raised by the animals. As he grows up he feels the need to understand humankind.</span><div style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; font-style: normal;"><br></div><div style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; font-style: normal;">Why am I such an easy mark for this kind of story? No matter how I examine this, the story of Mowgli remains one of the best storylines in cinema. And I can say that because everyone knows that when Mowgli returns to the human world he takes his animal friends with him, in a spiritual sense.</div><div style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; font-style: normal;"><br></div><div style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; font-style: normal;">The Jungle Book is a clash of values, the human world versus the animal world, with Mowgli caught between the two.</div><div style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; font-style: normal;"><br></div><span style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt;"><img src="http://www.scorpiotv.com/images/JungleBookCover.jpg"></span><div style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;"><br><div style="font-style: normal;">Like you guys my knowledge of this story was formed by the Disney animated version from 1967. That's why I want to make a pitch for the 1942 live action film, "The Jungle Book" released by United Artists. I'd never seen this old movie until I ran into Prof. Nick Salerno over at Arizona State University, who convinced my entire class to sit and watch the first Jungle Book movie and fall for the actor, Sabu - maybe the best Mowgli ever!</div><div style="font-style: normal;"><br></div><img src="http://www.themoviescene.co.uk/reviews/_img/5238-2.jpg"><div style="font-style: normal;"><br></div><div style="font-style: normal;">This Is Important: you do not have to watch the 1942 Jungle Book today, or tomorrow, or in the next ten years. In fact, it does not matter when you see the 1942 version. But every Jungle Book fan must watch the 1942 film at least once in a lifetime.</div><div style="font-style: normal;"><br></div><img src="http://images3.cinema.de/imedia/5064/2365064,c1Z0Pg_uuTesYUHvqmOrNkGMFxfOrut_QlrtQVtuVwIfao9zg8P05WMQFJezQyHwMkywGH+JjfO209kuBk0V0A==.jpg"></div><div style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;"><br><div>The original Jungle Book movie is very outdated but it has a quiet awesomeness that modern retellings try to capture, a sort of Jungle Book Spirit. The 1942 Jungle Book film has one of the best renderings of a classic movie ending, <span style="font-style: italic;">ever!</span></div></div><div style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-style: italic;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: italic;">I had to turn up the volume on this clip, when Mowgli asks for permission to enter the jungle, hearing the reply gets to me everytime, no matter how often I watch it. This old movie makes me sit-up a little bit taller in my chair. 30944 | Random Videos Thread | Because somebody thought it would be a great idea, in 2001 there was a Neverending Story television series. This looks like it was a really bad mix of Power Rangers and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.
