31734Back online, at a terrible cost.Okay gang. We can do this. We have our work cut out for us. We are back in time on the site as it was in May.

First what did we lose? 6 months of:

Submitted Articles
Draft Articles
Video Uploads
Forum Discussions
Post Counts
Personal Titles earned after May
Private Messages
Summer Contest Winner
Halloween Contest Winner
Point Store merchandise availability
Points for the Points Store
Purchases made in the Points Store to keep inventory accurate after all we probably received our prizes already
Website Upgrades
Mobile Friendly Options
Troll killer options for Tony

Star Submitter top spots as of 11/24/2016

Okay friends and neighbors here is what we can do.

We are going to make google work for us. Open a google search page. Enter the exact title of your articles that were lost one at a time with the words RETRO DAZE. (*IMPORTANT*) Instead of clicking the link it will provide in the search results (*IMPORTANT*) click the little green down arrow next to the url for the article and click cached in the submenu. It will take you to a cached version of your article where you can copy your text. You may even see some of the pictures but do not try to save them as they will result in broken links. You should already have them saved on your computers from the first time you wrote the articles. Go to the current Retro Daze page and submit your articles over again by posting your text and reinserting your photos. Submitting should restore some of your star submitter status, point values, and will bring back some of the content on the website. So that we can reread some of the articles that were lost. If I was unable to find your exact article title you can search as close to the title as you remember and it should still work and bring up a cached copy. Some of you may have backed up your files prior to submitting and may be able to just re-post your articles.

We can do this! 31733Back online, at a terrible cost.Well, now I know to completely avoid using Hostgator when starting up a website.
blueluigiNov 27, 2016View
31732Back online, at a terrible cost. One small ray of hope that I'm clinging to is this: In mid-September, prior to starting work on the mobile overhaul, Rakesh set up our website on a test server. If he installed the entire website from mid-September, we might be able to pull from his test server, and gain an additional 4 months of content. I'm trying to get in contact with him about this, and will keep you all updated.
Vaporman87Nov 27, 2016View
31731Back online, at a terrible cost.Well, I'm glad to see this place back up and running, at least. I was disappointed it was down for the last few days. What happened totally isn't fair, though. I'm really sorry, Vaporman.SupermanNov 27, 2016View

31728The Café2016 - What A Year!

Sometimes a year is remarkable by the fate on a single person. Fidel Castro has finally left the world's stage.

Funny thing about Castro - he lived too long. Castro should have died in the 20th century while he was a badass thorn in America's side and an international icon.

But Castro died as he lived, a stubborn ideologue.

eddstarrNov 27, 2016View
