34145The Nintendo Switch - Your thoughts?from what i heard, people were really sold with that new zelda game that came out. and it's not surprising, just about every video game reviewing site gave it a 10.BenjanimeMar 04, 2017View
34144The Nintendo Switch - Your thoughts?I stopped by Gamestop today to browse around while I had time to kill, and there was a sign on the door that said "Sorry, but we are sold out of Nintendo Switches".

It looks like Nintendo may have hit a home run with this.
Rick Ace RhodesMar 04, 2017View

34142Virtual Console ThursdaysThe Nintendo Switch is now out, and the Wii U Virtual Console games still continues. For how long, I'm not sure. I'm assuming we'll see a gap between Virtual Console releases until the Switch unravels theirs. But until then, we still have the Wii U releases to go by. This is the week of March 2, 2017:

Wii U Virtual Console:

Dungeon Explorer (TG-16)
$5.99

Neutopia (TG-16)
$5.99

I guess if there's anything to expect, is Konami releasing Turbografx-16 games right during the eve of the Switch's launch. Especially since we're NOW just getting the first Neutopia. The sequel is far superior, but who knows if we'll even be getting that at this point, especially after the Switch has been released.
blueluigiMar 04, 2017View

34139The Nintendo Switch - Your thoughts?
i've seen a few stories from people taking their systems back, so i'm kinda thankful that i made the choice to wait to buy mine. my main reason for waiting was for more third party games to surface (and no, indie games don't count).

BenjanimeMar 03, 2017View

34137The Nintendo Switch - Your thoughts? So, I ended up picking up the Nintendo Switch console last night during the midnight release.

I know I've been pretty negative about the system in some of my previous posts here on this thread, and that's mainly due to my initial reaction on the Nintendo Switch presentation. But despite that, I've been pretty excited about the system. Yes, I still do have some of my concerns about it in regards to the console's power and its limited storage... not to mention I noticed framerate drops while I was playing Breath of the Wild. But in the end, I love the concept of being able to take that console experience on the go... and just the idea of being able to play a large open world game like Breath of the Wild on a portable system is pretty incredible in my opinion. The screen also looks very solid, and yes, it does fit in your pocket.

As far as motion control goes. Yes, I was against it initially, but one thing I thought about in terms of that is that it's not going to be a primary focus on the system as far as I know. Plus, if there are games that uses better motion control technology, then I might be more on board with it. I may give ARMS a chance. Even if the motion control on that game is terrible, I heard you can turn off that feature, and play it like a good old traditional fighting game. I just hope that this doesn't lead to more games forcing motion controls on you like they've done with Star Fox Zero, and that the Switch does not turn into another shovelware system.

Even with all the negative things I said about the Switch in the past, I want the console to be successful. Not just the fact that I like the concept, but also, if the system fails, I don't think Nintendo is going to have much of a future anymore. That's something I don't want to see, because if Nintendo leaves the console market, I really feel that gaming will never be the same again.
blueluigiMar 03, 2017View
