| 34324 | Legendary's Kong | I too watched the film today.<br><br>It was well done. I found myself oddly wishing that Kong would have been "warmed up to" in much the same fashion that Godzilla was in his first Legendary outing. But I think this film was more of an answer to criticisms that Godzilla didn't get enough screen time and pretty much didn't show up in his full glory until the last 20 minutes or so. Here, Kong shows up in the first 5 minutes and it doesn't really slow down after that. That's great to a degree, but does kind of suck the awe out of his mighty presence. I think I figured out how they will be able to match Kong up with Godzilla in 2020. Here it is explained that he is "still growing". From 1973 (the timeframe this film takes place in) until 2020 is plenty of time to "grow". Pretty good movie, a fresh take on the King Kong franchise and attempted to be different from previous installaments. | 34320 | Last Movie You Watched | We watched a couple of movies this weekend. One kind of newer, and a couple of older ones.<div style="font-weight: normal;"><br></div><div><b>Guardians of the Galaxy </b>- I finally got around to watching this one for the first time. I thought it was a pretty fun movie and a nice entry in the Marvel universe of films. Star Lord is a really fun character, and everyone played their parts well. I'd give it a <b>4.5 out of 5</b>.</div><div style="font-weight: normal;"><br></div><div><b>Twister</b><span style="font-weight: normal;"> - I saw this the first time when it hit theaters back in 1996 and loved it then. I've seen it a couple of times since then, and always enjoy it. It has a high rewatchability factor to it. The effects are starting to look dated, but the story is a fun one. </span><b>4 out of 5</b><span style="font-weight: normal;">.</span></div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b>Smokey and the Bandit</b><span style="font-weight: normal;"> - Still one of my favorite movies of all time, and infinitely quotable.
