34986Mystery Science Theater 3000If you guys are interested I can share an MST3K experience this Easter weekend.

But for now - enjoy a rare gift. 34985Mystery Science Theater 3000Well I have watched the first two episodes of MST3K: The Return and here's what I have to say about it.

First, Pretty much every aspect of the show includes pieces of what made the original so great. This is obvious from the outset, with the elaborate yet incredibly low budget intro, to the original concept for the SOL bits (ie: the invention exchange). Ties to the original show are scattered throughout, like the relationship of the "mads" to their predecessors and even cameos by the old show's familiars. The first episode intro that included Erin Grey and Wil Wheaton was a nice touch.

The cast, though not exactly up to Mike, Kevin, or Bill standards, is sufficient. Though I wish there was more deviation in their voices as often times I can't distinguish who is speaking. Still, Jonah is better than Joel. Sorry, but... he is.

The writing for the riffing is well done. There were many times I busted a gut. Good stuff. And the movie selection so far couldn't be any more "MST3K" worthy. All-in-all I think it's not perfect, but it's a worth successor and a nice way to expose a new generation to the best show that ever aired on television.
Vaporman87Apr 15, 2017View

34983Last Movie You WatchedThe Founder

This was a pretty enjoyable film and a nice look into the history of McDonald's founding and the turmoil that resulted. I was sure that the film was going to paint Ray Kroc as a conniving crook looking for an easy way to riches, but it was actually a lot more of an even-handed swipe at both parties. The flaws of both Kroc and Dick McDonald are pretty apparent. Even so, Kroc comes off looking the worse of the two, while poor Mac McDonald sits by and deals with the stress. I think my view of McDonald's was maybe slightly changed, but not enough to stop me from going there to eat. I recommend this one.

3.75/5
Vaporman87Apr 14, 2017View
