4588ArticleVaporman87NLogan: Actually the Classics line mythos is what you're referring to. The original He-Ro and "Powers of Grayskull" line was supposed to follow He-Ro as He-Man's son. Oct 02, 2018View
4594ArticleVaporman87NLogan: I see what you're saying. Yes, originally that line was going to place He-Ro in the past. Good call. I have apparently allowed that to forever escape my memory. LOL. However, I never personally counted the mini-comics as "canon" in the MOTU universe because they were all over the place in terms of storylines and characters, with very little consistency (the whole Oo-Larr/Jungle He-Man story comes to mind). I was drawing on the story that Lou Scheimer was going to tell through the never produced cartoon he was pitching. Figuring that the cartoon would be developing the characters (of which there would be action figures) if both were ever produced, He-Ro would turn out to be the son (albeit adopted) of King Adam (He-Man).Interview With A 10 Year Old He-Man FanOct 02, 2018View

2186ArticleVaporman87No doubt about it, the early days of "Turtlemania" were the best. I thoroughly enjoyed both the cartoon series and the first live action film, though I've commented before that I thought it could have done a bit better with a little more star power and some deeper character exploration. Naturally I had some of the toys, but my brother was in their prime demographic (I was around 14 - 18) so naturally he had more. Even so, I enjoyed the turtle merchandise. One thing I will say for the newest animated incarnation... they have gone out of their way to pay homage to it's predecessor. Including all the old favorites like "fly" Baxter, Leatherhead, Metal Head, Rat King, and more. Once, while visiting Dimension X, the turtles look into a portal and see their 1980's cartoon counterparts walking down the street with April in her classic yellow jumpsuit. The original voice actors from that cartoon portray themselves once more at the end of that episode (in a little pre-credits nugget for the fans). They had several episodes that took place at April's relative's farm (with the house looking VERY MUCH like the one from the 1990 movie. In another recent episode, Casey Jones uses the classic line, "The class is Pain 101. You're instructor is Casey Jones." Then his opponent retorts with "Did you really just say that kid?" LOL. Good stuff. They've had voice talent come in like Corey Feldman doing "Slash" (he did Donatello's voice in the 1990 film) and of course, Rob Paulson doing Donatello. It's a nice way to introduce the turtles to a new generation while showing some love for those of us who grew up on the originals. Turtles: The Teenage Mutant KindApr 01, 2015View

1194ArticleVaporman87No doubt about it... Pizza Hut has had some really good promotional products to offer in the past. I don't know that they do much of that anymore though. I was reminded (by the article) that I too once owned a few of the Land Before Time vinyl puppets. They were really well done. I can't say I ever wore out a copy of the Coming Out Of Their Shells Tour cassette, but I did wear out my cassette of the Turtles movie soundtrack. I can still sing you entire songs from that album that have likely never been played anywhere outside of somebody's boom box. LOLPizza Hut PromotionsSep 03, 2014View

2539ArticleVaporman87No doubt, that was a tearjerker for me growing up. I loved the movie so much, but it was hard to get through the whole thing sometimes knowing what was to come. When I first saw the film, the tension that was building when Atreyu tries to pass by the Oracle Statues really had me biting my nails. I'll never forget that feeling. As an adult, you expect things to turn out okay for the protagonist because if it doesn't, the moviegoers will be very upset. But as a kid, you figure his chances are about as good as your own, and that doesn't inspire confidence. LOL Like you said though, the ending makes it all worth it. Fun fact: The voice of Falkor is also the voice of Man-At-Arms and many other MOTU characters from the original He-Man series.Movies that damaged me as a child - Part 1Aug 18, 2015View
