2669ArticleVaporman87It's funny to imagine an underworld in schools with kids selling hot merchandise like stolen G.I. Joe figures. LOL Sep 18, 2015View
2668ArticleVaporman87That's what's really aggravating about growing up. Your mom and dad just start tossing/selling stuff with no regard. In my case, I made the mistake of initiating the sale of much of my childhood collection as a teenager. Idiot!Menace ManiaSep 18, 2015View
2667ArticleoniparI agree with Vaporman, some interesting choices here. For instance, The Goonies was a huge surprise, though I do understand its inclusion. You also hit upon more than a few of my personal favs, and ones I watch every year as well. There are a couple here that I've never seen and plan to check out. Thanks! 2666ArticlekidcoffeeI did. Each meticulously labeled with hand drawn covers. Sadly though when I went off to College my parents purged 99% of my collection including all of my vhs, MOTU figures, Thundercats, GI Joe, and eventually my Transformers. To say I was angry would be a vast understatement, but not much I can do about it now. I do hope someday though I may be able to find a few episodes on vhs in the wild. We'll see.Menace ManiaSep 18, 2015View

2664ArticlekidcoffeeI'm still kicking myself for not including his work with Dairy Queen. I hang my head in shame. As for his original black and white show, I confess I didn't see it until I was much much older. I liked it, but I am not sure if ten year old me would have. As for the movies, they were pretty abysmal if I recall correctly, but again they came out near the tail end of my obsession so I was pretty over Dennis by that point. His cartoon was really what pushed me over the edge. Of course re-watching it now I am reminded just how terribly corny it was. At the time however I gobbled it up.Menace ManiaSep 18, 2015View
2663Articlecomic_book_fani had been to the principal office a few times my first time happened when i was in the first grade me and a couple of friends were coming back from PE and were ran by the library when miss cox came out and said busted dude she only called me this as a nick name because i said dude a lot well anyways i just got a warning for that. the next time me and the school bully got sent to the office because we were supposed to be cleaning up the room and set the chairs in top of the desks anyway he kept poking me in the head with the chair leg i finally lost my temper and tried to take the chair from him and it led to us going to the floor and the chair broke we got a small writing assignment and his dad had to pay for it because he started it which he admitted to. then there was the time i bought 4 stolen gi joe action figures from the same bully for a dollar i knew that was too good of a deal. see the kid who owned the figures wanted them back and i wouldn't budge until i got my dollar back and the bully already bought a pop with 50 cents of it i agreed to give back the figures because the principle knew my family and threatened to call my mom and tell her i was accused of stealing which would have been very bad for me plus i was about to miss the bus i don't know what the bully's punishment was they sent me and the gi joe kid back to class but the bully was back in school after that without missing any school so it must not have been too badThe Principal's OfficeSep 18, 2015View
2662ArticleVaporman87This was an interesting list with lots of curious choices. I think the Halloween season lends itself to all sorts of different films that, even though they may not be "Halloween" in nature, produce the desired effect. I can see each of these doing just that. A handful of these actually have scenes that make an appearance in this year's RetroDaze Halloween Special. So you have definitely picked some highly regarded Halloween fare here. 2660ArticleVaporman87Wow. Very nice list Hoju. This was a fun recap of some of my favorite mascots from the good old days. I would have to say that the Noid was also on the top of my list. He had that great quality of being the loveable bad guy. And that's hard to achieve, especially for something like an ad campaign. I wish they would bring him back in full force. I might consider buying a Dominos Pizza if they did. LOL I would only add two honorable mentions here... those being the California Raisins, and Spuds McKenzie. I liked Spuds a lot (I had a couple Spuds McKenzie t-shirts in my youth). Even though he was the mascot of a product I could not purchase (nor did I want to), he was fun and cool. You know, I think I may actually STILL own one of those Spuds McKenzie t-shirts. LOL5 Best Food Mascots of the 80's and 90'sSep 18, 2015View
2659ArticleVaporman87I do recall that I liked watching Dennis The Menace (the cartoon) and I also liked reading the comic strip/panel. But I think my most potent memory of Dennis comes from his affiliation with Dairy Queen. Long after Dennis' fame peaked, DQ kept him in our consciousness with their use of his likeness. I still can't get the intro song out of my head either. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/lyhRKgRQeho" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I am curious to know what you thought about the old TV show, and the movies that came later?Menace ManiaSep 18, 2015View
