Yahoo! had this up on their front page, and I found it to be both a reminder, and a bit of a surprise. For instance, I did not realize that blackened fish was something that we really only embraced until the 80's.
Even so, it's an interesting look at the foods we consider icons of decades gone by.
I think if I were to point to a food that I associate with, for example, the 80's... I would say (just for myself) Fruit Roll Ups, Prime Rib, and Pudding (the kind you cook in a pot). Oh, Pudding Pops and the Ecto-Cooler also.
Fondue is probably the ONE food you can definitely point to having it's heyday in a past decade.

Food that reminds me of the 80s; Pop Rocks, popcorn balls, Handi-Snacks (cheese and crackers), and Smurf cereal.
