They made us smile. They made us laugh. They are the perfectionists of the "cat-and-mouse game." They are Tom and Jerry!





One of my favorite shorts is Mouse in Manhattan. The reason is because of the adventure Jerry has there. He goes to see what New York City has to offer, but he runs into some trouble as well. Plus, the music is cool too. I like how they play "Manhattan Serenade" throughout the short. It really complements the tone of the cartoon.

Tom and Jerry is one of my favorite cartoons. I love senseless cat and mouse violence. I even like the 2 Spike and Tyke spinoff cartoons. 

Spike and Tyke are alright. When they're not giving Tom trouble.

It's interesting how the style of the cartoon changed through the years... from the first black and white in the 40's through the 50's and 60's, to the Chuck Jones era, and into present day.

I always saw Puss Gets the Boot in color.

Let us not forget the duo as children.

Me too. Wikipedia tells me it was made in Technicolor.  Where'd you get that b&w screencap, Vaporman?

I would also like to forget the Chuck Jones cartoons.  He just transposed Roadrunner and Wile E Coyote stories onto Tom and Jerry.  Wrong.  Also, putting them in outer space, and making them talk/laugh/yell too much.

A lot of Chuck Jones' T&J shorts didn't appeal to me.

Burger King is offering Tom & Jerry branded kid's meals now. Here is what we ended up getting while my oldest son and I were out and about...

We got some of those too, but they only had the Jerry toys.

You'd think Jerry would be smart enough not to eat a soccer ball.
