For those of you not in the know, Super Mario Bros. Super Show actor Danny Wells known for his role as Luigi in the live action segments has passed away.

First, Paul Walker, now Dannel Wells. Too many deaths are happening lately.

Danny Wells is also known as Charlie the Bartender from The Jeffersons. He also lent his voice in many other cartoons, such as Heathcliff, Arthur, Batman the Animated Series, and others.

One of the nice things about Well's role as Luigi is the cowardly personality he's portrayed as in the show. That side of Luigi is still used as a staple in the Mario games that's being made today. Especially Luigi's Mansion.

I wish they had kept Mario's personality from the show too!  Stupid "it's-a-me", ugh...

kinda leaves the "year of luigi" event ending on a sour note, eh?

Hate to hear that. I liked his character a lot on the show. I wish they would have kept them for newer version of the show.

He did the voice of Raul, one of the neighborhood cats that Heathcliff fights in several episodes. He also voiced Bush, the sheepdog Cleo takes care of in the Catalliac Cats segments.
