"If you think a 401K is your mother-in-law's bra size, you might be a redneck."

I'm going to start by introducing Suzanne's husband, Alan Hamil: Suzanne Somers' husband, Alan Hamel, was the spokesman for the Alpha Beta grocery store chain, In 1977, I worked part-time nights at Alpha Beta and was proud of the chains struggle to keep a lid on price increases while some competitors raised prices everyday during the worst of the 70's double-digit inflation. Timing is important because Suzanne Somers starred in a surprise hit TV show, "Three's Company" at the height of rising cost of living and the visible inequality of pay received by women when compared to men during the fight to pass the Equal Rights Amendment. Alan Hamel acted as Suzanne's "agent pro-tem", and career advisor, fully supporting Suzanne when she demanded a substantial pay raise and a profit sharing percentage. ABC refused and Somers was off the show by 1981. Suzanne Somers will always represent to me the courage to stand up for yourself, fair treatment at work and bravery while facing a second bout of breast cancer. |

Sad to lose yet another TV icon from our youth. That only leaves Janet, right? You love this signature.

Richard Kline (Larry) is still living too. "If you think a 401K is your mother-in-law's bra size, you might be a redneck."
