This could be a fun place to share your celebrity encounters, the more substantive the better!

Probably one of my favorite interactions was meeting Jeff Cohen "Chunk" from The Goonies at a legal conference. He was very humble and friendly. We had a great and authentic conversation.

In addition to all the celebrity interviews I've done over the years, I've also met many stars at the Chiller Theatre convention. Here are the recaps of my Chiller visits so far, split between articles for RD's sister site The 80sxchange and my primary writing base Pop Geeks:

As to a list of the talents I've interviewed over the years, I made such a list on IMDB, a list that grows with every new interview I do. Read the introduction beforehand for a brief backstory on my history of interviews:

I met the boxer Butterbean at a restaurant while vacationing in Florida. I met Dave Batista at a WWE event. Met Ric Flair at Wal-Mart. Matt Hardy the wrestler acknowledged me at the same WWE event if that counts.

Most of my encounters with any celebs have been at cons. Though I did approach Larry Kenney in a hotel lobby to thank him for always providing free voice-overs when I asked. Such a great guy.

And one time in Virginia, on the beach, Terry O'Quinn said hello to us as he walked by. At first we didn't recognize him, just thought he was another tourist being friendly. Then we looked at each other like,"wait... was that?" Sure enough we discovered he'd been living there.

I knew Caps would have some good ones!

My brother and I are big Starship Troopers fans and we went to a small con in New Mexico which featured Casper Van Dien. What's cool was that it was a small panel so we got to ask Casper lots of questions about the making of Starship Troopers. Afterwards, at a (paid) signing, we got to talk with him personally for what seemed like an extended amount of time. He signed my brother's laser disc and posed for some pictures with the iconic "kill em all" phrase.

I have only ever met celebs at conventions back when I used to go semi-regularly.

My favourite is Ray Park. My girlfriend at the time was in line to get a Darth Maul poster signed by him, so I was kinda just along for the ride. But he made an effort to engage me in the conversation and make sure I felt included. Really nice guy.

The same goes for Ron Perlman. I was with my sister this time to get her copy of Hellboy Vol 1 signed but he made sure to chat with me as well and get a photo with the three of us.

My least favourite is Doug TenNapel. This was back before it was widely known that he's a hateful biggot, so I was excited to meet the creator of Earthworm Jim and get his signature. He was a major jackass.

In between is Billy Dee Williams. He was wearing sunglasses indoors and was obviously either super hungover or super stoned, but either way he was a chill guy so I can't complain.

If you think Doug TenNapel is bad, wait until you hear what became of Tommy Tallarico.

I actually read a bit about what's going on with him on this forum when I was just lurking. Saw the topic about EWJ4 being cancelled. It's too bad because the teaser did look good with the hand drawn animation, and I cackled when they specifically assured fans that TenNapel wasn't involved. But I guess Tallarico was no better.

So it would seem. I'm out the money for four pre-orders I guess.

Yep, Tommy smuggled all that Amico preorder money to fly to Chile to set up a concert. Absolute chode and I can't believe I looked up to him.
