Fans of the wormy hero may be in for some unexpected news, as it turns out, Interplay still holds the rights to the franchise.

I think people were extremely optimistic in believing this would happened. I know there is a lot of nostalgia for the character and people really have been campaigning for the series to get revived, but it doesn't seem like something that is going to have a lot of momentum within the developer world.

sadly it got even worse when music composer tommy tallarico constantly lied about release dates among other things, now he's fairly quiet on social media.

sadly yes, and the only trailer too. even the creator, doug tennapel got kicked out of the project for his political views which didn't make things any easier to get it off of the ground.

probably what really set the nail in the coffin was the fact that intellivision didn't even have enough funds to give refunds. it's been a few years now and there have been reports that a lot of consumers still haven't gotten their money back. even vaporman is still waiting for his refund.

Earthwworm Jim and Project G.e.e.K.e.R. are both creations of Doug TenNapel, and Doug's work has made a lasting impact on fans. For now, if Earthworm Jim has any future it's doubtful that DougTenNapel will have a part in it's creation. 

the last i'd heard too, development didn't even start at all on earthworm jim 4. that footage in the trailer was all that was ever done because the team didn't have the rights to use the franchise. so many lies coming out of the "president" of the amico, tommy tallarico.
