On your mark, the United States Football League is back and the first game is set for Saturday, April 16, 2022.

Here's a preview of the teams and their new uniforms. Hope Red is your favorite color!

I was rooting for the XFL comeback. It had the misfortune of premiering during 2001 and 2020. Maybe third time will be the charm?

Football after the Super Bowl. Maybe it'll be a success. Unlike the XFL.

I think a Springtime league would do really well. I think however they have to develop the concept a little bit more if they want to do it right. Especially since nothing is going to compete with the NFL.

Plus you can't just have it be a bunch of NFL rejects and so-and-so rated players from college.

What an interesting comment, RaR

Yes, the USFL has to find it's own path to success, because it can't take on the NFL without offering something new or different. So what defines new or different? Unique rules that make for shorter yet more exciting gameplay?

As you said, trying to beat the NFL at its own game seems a long shot. But, we'll soon see for ourselves!

I watched the Tampa Bay Bandits/Pittsburgh Maulers game yesterday.

Must've been about 30 or 40 in attendance at the game. Pretty small crowd.

Yes, you can't miss the empty stadium. games played at home will have better attendance. I'm following the New Orleans Breakers. Football is football , I've got no issues with the gameplay! Tampa Bay has settled down nicely.
