Sidney Poitier lived to age 94, and what I loved about him was the way we all became one big family whenever he was around. That's what real people do.

"In The Heat of the Night", from 1967, is remarkable because Sidney acted with his eyes, using an economy of words. So much so that some of the best dialog is "silent", the audience reading the lines from Sidney's face!

Sidney died due to a mix of Alzheimer's, heart failure, and prostate cancer. He had a lot of problems!
