I'm convinced that John Madden is the reason we still have football in the 21st century. I noticed ten years ago a decline in the number of young men interested in high school and college football. And that decline is accelerating.

If not for John Maddden, this decline would have happened much sooner. The world of electronics holds a much brighter future for many a young man, with the benefit of intact knees and a pain-free back.

Rest In Peace John Madden.

never was into football but i do remember all those john madden football games for the sega genesis.

The graphic improvements with each new release was a universal signal to the changes in gaming happening on every platform.

The guy helped defined my generation's line of sports video games. I still play my copies of Madden 04 and 09 from time to time.
