Even among standard television shows from the 60's, the Monkees' Christmas Show stands out as unusual.

Christmas Day 1967 fell on a Monday and instead of being preempted by a Holiday Special, the Monkees kept to their scheduled Monday night time slot. 

To add an air of distinction, the Monkees' Christmas Show deleted the regular laugh track to empart a more somber tone in the shows opening scene. 

The guest star was Butch Patrick, aka "Eddie Munster", in the role of a lonely boy who doesn't know the meaning of Christmas.

With the death of Michael Nesmith on December 10th, 2021, Mickey Dolenz is now the sole surviving member of the Monkees band.
